Saturday: ALC Fundraiser for Team Midnight Ridazz

Published by Alex Thompson at 8:24 pm under Activism, FUN

Saturday, from 7pm to Midnight the Bike Oven will host an exhibition of photographs of LA’s bike culture. The event is a fundraiser for the Aids Life Cycle, for Team Midnight Ridazz. Several Westside Ridazz will have work displayed including Gary Kavanagh, Steven Rood, Ben Hardy, and professional photographer Franz Ellers. These guys take amazing photos.

Here’s the Team Midnight Ridazz blurb, followed by a few pics I like from these photographers:

Photographing L.A. Bike CultureOpening: May 10, 2008 7pm - 12am

All photographs and art by AIDS LifeCycle participants from Team Midnight Ridazz. The team is a group of cyclists from the Midnight Ridazz cycling community that have joined to raise money and awareness for the AIDS LifeCycle organization by pledging to ride 545 miles from San Fransisco to Los Angeles, and raise a minimum of $2,500 each.

The show will focus on different aspects of bike culture from the perspective of cyclists involved in Midnight Ridazz.

The exhibit will feature works by Franz Ellers, Richard Flores, Danny Gamboa, Ben Hardy, Gary Kavanagh, Steven Rood, and Indigis

Proceeds from the sale of the artwork and food will go toward Team Midnight Ridazz reaching their fundraising commitments. Funds benefit AIDS LifeCycle and the AIDS related services of the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.
