Update: ibikeu Wiki’s First Week in Public
Last week we unveiled the ibikeu Wiki, a wiki for all things bike, and then I spent the next three days refreshing the stats counter. The first week was a great success. During the two months when the wiki was private there were only 2176 pageviews, 616 edits, and 46 pages of content. This week the ibikeu Wiki had 8927 pageviews, was edited 1072 times, and the total number of content pages almost tripled to 130. That’s astronomical growth!
Editor of the week SP00K (aka Kyle Hertler), together with E-rock and other editors, took the wiki in a new direction, using it to document the myriad of freak bikes that the Los Angelopes built.
If you haven’t looked at the wiki since last week, take a moment to check it out and see how it’s changed. If you’d like to edit, please create an account and then email me (alexcthompson at gmail dot com) with your user name. Here’s some interesting articles, most of which have been written in the last week:
Ubrayj02’s article describing bike planning in LA
The framework for an article on bike maintenance and mechanics
Something we all know a little about
As editors discovered this week, wikis are fun. Try it out! Maybe you can help us with our top ten needs for LA related entries.
